Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: GRU Landing - Straight to Street Art
Plane wheels down, driver with iced mate, 40 min to Vila Madalena. Hotel in a converted warehouse, graffiti wall outside your window. Quick shower, then 3-hour mural walk, Beco do Batman exploding color, local artist explains tags. Dinner at a hidden pizza joint, dough spun by Japanese-Brazilian chef, caipirinha with yuzu twist.
Day 2: MASP & Skyline Lunch
Morning Avenida Paulista, hit MASP, that red floating building, masterpieces from every continent. Coffee at the top-floor café, city sprawls below. Lunch on the 28th floor of Itália building, 360 view, pasta with Brazilian pesto. Afternoon free, shop Liberdade Japan town or nap in Ibirapuera Park. Evening rooftop bar, neon jungle lights up.
Day 3: Fly South - Paraty Cobblestones
Early 50-min flight to Rio, then 4-hour private van hugging the coast, green mountains drop into sea. Arrive Paraty, UNESCO old town, white walls, colorful doors, no cars allowed. Pousada in 18th-century mansion, check in, walk to the bay, jangadas bobbing. Dinner seafood moqueca in clay pot, live choro guitar.
Day 4: Schooner Day - Island Hop
8 am board classic wooden schooner, sails up, wind in hair. Stop at three emerald bays, snorkel over parrotfish, jump from the deck. Lunch onboard, grilled prawns, cold beer. Anchor at a fisherman’s beach, hammocks strung between palms. Back by 4 pm, siesta, then night cap at a hidden cachaça bar, 40 kinds to taste.
Day 5: Saco do Mamanguá Trek & Boat
Morning speedboat to tropical fjord Saco do Mamanguá, 8 km of mangrove calm. 2-hour moderate hike to Pão de Açúcar peak, 360 bay views, sweat worth it. Descend to caiçara village, lunch fresh crab, kids play soccer barefoot. Boat back slow, dolphins ride the bow wave.
Day 6: Paraty Free & Michelin Finale
Sleep late, wander churches with gold insides, buy pepper jelly from old ladies. Optional kayak or just read in the square. 6 pm transfer 10 min to a restored farmhouse, Michelin-starred dinner, 8 courses, ingredients from their garden, wine pairing Brazilian bubbles. Stumble home under lanterns.
Day 7: Coastal Drive Back - GRU Drop
Breakfast pastel by the dock, then scenic van north, stop at a waterfall for quick dip if time. Airport by 3 pm for evening flights, or add Rio night if you can’t quit. City buzz still in your ears, salt still on your skin.
