Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Land & Instant Bloco
Morning or afternoon arrival, driver meets you with cold coconut water, 30 min to Copacabana hotel. Drop bags, change into flip-flops, we’re hitting the first street bloco by 4 pm, brass band roaring, locals pull you into the circle. Quick dinner of pastel snacks, then rooftop caipirinhas watching the sunset prep for night one.
Day 2: Costume Workshop & Night Parade
Sleep in a bit, breakfast with pão de queijo. 10 am workshop in a samba school warehouse, glue feathers, shake hips with a passista pro, leave with your own mini costume piece. Lunch inside, rice & beans fuel. Nap, then 7 pm transfer to Sambadrome Sector 7 VIP box, floats taller than houses, drums rattle your ribs, parade till 4 am if you last. Late night coxinha run on the way home.
Day 3: Recovery Beach & Lapa Street Party
Late breakfast, beach chairs reserved on Copacabana, iced mate and sunscreen. Afternoon optional surf or just people-watch. 5 pm head to Lapa arches, massive bloco under the aqueduct, 100,000 bodies moving as one, beer trucks everywhere. Midnight transfer back, ears still ringing.
Day 4: Santa Teresa Bloco & Samba School Rehearsal
Morning tram up the hill to artsy Santa Teresa, smaller bloco winding cobblestone streets, kids in glitter, dogs in tutus. Lunch at a botequim, feijoada mini bowls. Evening invite to a top samba school quadra, watch pros rehearse next year’s theme, join the bateria if you dare, cold Skol flowing.
Day 5: Free Day or Optional Hangover Cure
No plans till 6 pm, sleep, beach bike ride, massage, whatever fixes you. Late afternoon meet for sunset at Arpoador rock, then final rooftop farewell, live pagode band, swap blurry pics, promise to return.
Day 6: Checkout & Carnival Hangover Flight
Morning transfer to airport, or add a post-Carnival quiet island day if you need silence. You’ll leave with glitter in your luggage for months.
